This was a warm fall in Japan, especially in November, so the leaves were late in turning colors, and when they did start to change, the change was rapid and inconsistent, so that the same tree had both green and red leaves at the same time. It's an unusual situation, and overall the fall colors were not as impressive this year, but in this case it produced an interesting contrast in colors.
